How a Pro-Life person CAN and SHOULD support Roe v Wade. And you CAN and SHOULD too!

I am Pro-life, AND I support another woman’s right to choose what she wants/needs to do if she is pregnant. Even if…it means she chooses to end her pregnancy. It has taken me the better part of 51 years to gain clarity on this issue. I admit I did not always feel this way.

I am outraged at the Supreme Court’s decision and the apparent “bait and switch” of opinions, under Oath, several of them have pulled over on our Nation.

I understand that is difficult to read for so many of my born/raised Catholic family members and friends along with the vast array of other conservative religious friends/family members out in the world, but I believe we can all support the decisions other people make, even if we don’t agree with them. That is what true freedom looks like, in my humble opinion.

I do this every single day.

I am a vegetarian for over a decade, AND I still support your right to kill and consume an animal for your food source. I prepare meals in my own home for my family that includes meat BECAUSE they do not believe the same as I do.

I will never allow guns in my home or own a gun, AND I still support your right to own a gun or have a gun/s in your own home. (assault weapons are not necessary and please do not tell me you need them for your time at the gun range. We both know you aren’t taking them to a gun range.)

I do not smoke, AND I still support your right to smoke in your home or wherever you want- away from me.

I am not gay, AND I still support every adult’s right to marry any adult they choose to marry. I will protest until the end of time for all my friends/family to have this right. Please do not respond with the nonsensical come-back of “what if a person wants to marry a lamp, or his/her dog, or his/her mom.” Stop it. Please. That is insulting.

I don’t own a boat or a large SUV, AND I still support your right to purchase one if you choose to do so and spend half of your life’s savings on gasoline as the cost keeps climbing. Electric cars- please make them more affordable ASAP!

I don’t listen to heavy metal or opera music, AND I still support your right to do so. Listen away!

I do not have any plastic surgery, AND I still support your right to do whatever the heck you want to alter or change your body however you choose to do so. I have several tattoos and you might disagree with my decision to have them, but currently, I have the right to ink-up my body however I choose to do so.

My point is simple: while some of these may seem silly and inconsequential, others are fundamental and critical rights each human deserves in determining his/her right path in life. I am urging us all to look at the various ways we go about our lives deciding what is “right” for us, and do we really want the federal government, comprised of mostly old, white men, to decide how we live our lives? How would you feel if you lost one of the rights above? Gun owners…we know you wouldn’t take that decision without fighting!

While I may not believe in my heart decisions others make are right for me and my life, I will fight with all that I have (mostly with words because, well that is what I do best) for your right to determine that for your life. Until…the Supreme Court decides, as a woman, I no longer have the right to express myself through the written form.

Do not wait until your rights are in jeopardy to stand up for those who need you to fight for them!

Peace… we need more of this in our world…..

(if you are curious about more ways you can find peace in your life… my first book hit the market a month ago. On amazon…. since bookstores are no longer a thing/right in our world. )
